Job Title: Junior Software Developer
Job Site: Schaumburg, IL.

 

DUTIES: Use standard occupational tools and knowledge to perform the following job duties: working under close supervision, develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs; analyze user needs and develop software solutions; design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an application area, working as part of a team. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: modifying existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance; as directed, conducting software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation; conferring with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to receive direction as to how to assist with designing systems and obtaining information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces; under supervision, analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; under close supervision, designing, developing and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; storing, retrieving, and manipulating data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements; consulting with customers about software system design and maintenance; under supervision,performing software system installation and monitoring equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met; as directed, obtaining and evaluating information based on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration. As assigned, perform other
duties normally associated with this occupation.

REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree (or equivalent thereof) in Computer Science, or any related major that provided the skills, knowledge and abilities required, and four years of directly related experience that provided the required skills and abilities. In lieu of the stated primary education and experience requirements, employer will accept related Bachelor's degree and two years of directly related experience that provided the required skills and abilities. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term, “suitable,” in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements, and ability to perform job duties. Applicants must support assertions with verifiable references. No travel or telecommuting. Job
duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites which may require relocation at the end of the project.
